Austin Plant swap at Tillery Street Plant Co.

Work has kept me busy, and I haven't been going out much. When I saw there was going to be a plant swap event, I immediately put it on my calendar. I had never been to a plant swap before, or any exchange event if that matters. Then I looked around my house, and I realized that I didn't have time to prepare rooted cuttings for the swap. Could I still go? Well, I would at least take some pictures and learn what exactly is going on at a plant swap event.

Today's plant swap was hosted by Tillery Street Plant Co. It was from 10 am to 1 pm. I managed to get out of the house and arrived at the event around 10:30 am. The event was bigger than I expected. I got to talk to many pleasant and kind plant people. Some of them even offered to give me their plants for free! I truly appreciated their kindness, and it helped me understand why people are so into houseplant now. People who love plants share and grow together. It is a beautiful and warm feeling, and especially when we are living in such a rigid and cold digital age.

I had a good time chatting with people at the plant swap and admiring their rare plant collection. Now, I need to start improving my propagation skill, so that I would have some plants to bring to the next plant swap event!
