Visiting Maple Arch Farm
Moving to Pennsylvania has allowed me to encounter many new surprises in life, and with cultural differences, I get to experience and grow. Being surrounded by farms, I am fortunate enough to be able to buy fresh produce from the farmers. Not long after I moved to this area, I discovered the Maple Arch Farm Market and have been in love with the nutritional fresh food they sell.
When you visit Maple Arch Farm Market, you will find fresh organic seasonal vegetables, fruits, meat, and dairy products. They also sell flowers and starter plants in the greenhouse by the market from spring to summer.
I learned about their farm tour in the early spring and was lucky to be invited after signing up. Without much expectation, the farm tour ended up to be entertaining, educational, and enlightening.
After all the guests arrived at the market, we rode on a farm wagon that four strong horses pulled. The ride through the farmland was bumpy and shaky but also fun! We stopped at multiple locations to observe their livestock and learn how they grow the produce. They also provided stories and explanations on the regenerative farming process, which helped me appreciate the steps they take to replenish their farmland and keep their animals healthy. Growing organic fresh food without commercially produced toxic pesticides takes so much effort.
In addition, they seemed to enjoy their more uncomplicated, fruitful lifestyle without the endless anxiety many of us are dealing with in this technological era. The experience was much more than learning about the farming process; it was also about seeing their lifestyle without constant electronic buzzing around us. The tour was eye-opening, and it reminded me of what people always say, "know what you are eating!"
Maple Arch Farm only holds a few farm tours every summer, so you may not be able to sign up for one till next year. You can always visit their marketplace to support their excellent effort in producing the best healthy food!
