Propagating my plants

Hoya Chelsea

Happy New Year! Time to remind me it's now 2020 and not 2019 when writing down the date!

To be honest, I don't feel much changes, it's just another day, and I still have errands to run, plants to water.

The issue of having too many plants is, if you are good at it, your plants grow well and flourish. Soon, they are growing wild and demanding a haircut. In 2019, I had learned a lot about taking care of my plants from YouTube videos and the pros on Facebook groups. At this point, some of my plants needed a trim.

Philodendron Panduriforme

I propagated Monstera Adansonii, Philodendron Panduriforme, Neon Pothos, and Hoya Chelsea. Notably, my Hoya Chelsea, it had been overgrown and looking scrawly hanging by my bathroom window. In terms of my propagation, I don't do anything special, just old fashion empty bottles with filtered water. I like being able to see what's going on with the root development. If it gets moldy, I can quickly clean it before it causing rots.

Even though I keep saying I need to trim down my plant collection, I still buying plants occasionally. My long trip to Asia is coming up in March, so I do need to get rid of some plants that I am less interested in having. Consider my buying trend; I think I will focus on the aroid more, instead of buying random plant species.

What are you planning to add to your plant collection in 2020?
