San Antonio Texas, first trip after 16 months
Even though most Americans are vaccinated or have already caught the virus, I am still nervous whenever I go out. The mask mandate is lifted everywhere, and people seem to be comfortable being out in public. I have been out regularly running errands, but I am stressed about it when it comes to travel. Before the pandemic, I was frequently traveling, but I got used to not traveling after 16 months stuck at home. In August and September, I have booked my trip to California and Oregon. To feel comfortable traveling, I decided to make an overnight trip to San Antonio. Since San Antonio is only 2 hours away, and I could simply drive there. I thought it would be a great way to ease me back into traveling and rekindle my passion for exploring other cities.
To keep things simple, I only brought my Fujifilm X100V with me on this trip. Most of the time, I didn't even take pictures. I really wanted to focus on experiencing the city and enjoying the view. The couple of times when I pulled out my camera were when I was visiting the San Antonio Botanical Garden and when I was at the San Antonio River Lock & Dam. I shot all the images in RAW + Jpeg format during my trip, and I found Jpeg images from my Fujifilm X100V were often good enough to share without editing. So all the photos you see here were straight out of the camera, or some called these SOOC images. With all the film recipes you can find online, it is easy to capture pleasing and appealing photos without needing post-editing.
Overall, I had fun and truly enjoyed my experience on this quick trip to San Antonio. The restaurants there served up some phenomenal cuisines that I would want to make another trip back soon! Shout out to Nonna Osteria and Back Unturned Brewing Co.; I would start to drool just thinking about the food I had at their restaurants! I understand things will be very different for travel, but I am looking forward to more adventures. I will be cautious and more careful about sanitizing, but I don't want to limit myself. Challenges and unique experiences from travel have always helped me grow and learn in life.
