My Nom Nom Now Pet Food Subscription Box Experience

They said desperate time calls for desperate measures. I don't usually do subscription box services because I like changes and variety. On top of that, I love my shopping hours at the stores. It feels better to be able to choose and touch the products before buying. Apparently, this would not be a great idea under the circumstances.

There are many subscription box services out there, from top to toe, you name it, and you can find it! I chose Nom Nom Now for my Frenchie because of how they present themselves and the information they provided on social media. They offered 50% off your first order, which is a good marketing strategy for customers who are interested in trying their products before committing. The monthly cost for my 20-pound French Bulldog is about $150. Although it's a little high for my budget, due to the current COVID-19 situation, I certainly don't mind paying a little more to get it to deliver to my house instead of taking the risk at the store.

I had received my first trial order last week. All the food did come well packed and frozen. After feeding my dog for a couple of days, everything seems fine with my dog, and she seems to like the food as well. One thing I do want to point out, the Turkey Fare packages appear to have a high ratio with rice. If you prefer to go grain-free, you may want to avoid the turkey option.

Initially, I did plan to be a long time subscriber if my dog likes the food. However, as of today, when I logged in to my account on their website, I noticed I wasn't getting the promised 50% off of my first order. Instead, I am getting $20 off on the first three orders. Sure, I don't have proof with the initial offer when I signed up, and a total of $60 off isn't a bad deal either. It just doesn't right, and it indeed created doubt in me. I like to support an honest company, and this doesn't feel like it. Also, if you wanted to cancel the subscription, you can't just press a button anytime, you will have to email or call them for that.

PS: After talking to the representative on the phone about the pricing glitch without an ideal result, I sent them a note telling them how that didn't sit right for me. They did quickly responded and corrected the discount after receiving my note.

April 10th Update: Yesterday, I received my official first order after the trial. The two weeks trial order came completely frozen, but this regular one month supply wasn't. To be honest, I was a little panic, because this is not the time for my dog to get sick and have to see the vet. I contacted them, and they said it's fine as long as it's cold to touch. All of the food is in the freezer now, and we will see how things go with my dog. I still prefer to see the food came frozen, and I am feeling uncomfortable with the situation. Texas weather is going to warm up anytime now, and I hope they could do that ship me something "cold to touch."
