Diamine Inkvent Calendar 2024 Day 1 Baltic Breeze Fountain Pen Ink
After swatching all the fountain pen inks from the Diamine Inkvent Calendar 2025 and using them to draw, I wrote down my final thoughts on the colors and my experience using them.
For day 1, we have a purple-tone Baltic Breeze. It is a well-balanced and slightly muted purple ink with copper-chrome shimmers. The color is on the lighter side but definitely legible if I use it in a medium-nib fountain pen. It is not likely I will use shimmer ink in an extra-fine nib fountain pen anyway. I thought the copper shimmers match well with the purple color, and they are lovely to look at when I use the ink to draw. The Baltic Breeze ink has a beautiful shading. On the lighter side, I see more of a true purple tone; on the darker side, it turns to blueish purple. I can see some darker, blackish shade where the ink is pulled, but it is very slight and not likely to show up in writing. I swatched the ink on a Muji notebook and then drew on a Traveler's Company Notebooks' Lightweight Insert, and the color looked identical on both papers.
